As a Registered Dietitian, I enjoy helping my patients discover ways to make sustainable and realistic lifestyle changes that support their health and wellness goals. I practice a collaborative approach where all food can fit. Food is a source of fuel for our body, but it is also an outlet to express our cultural background, creativity, and most of all express our love. With over 6 years of experience in the outpatient setting counseling patients, I continue to work on honing my craft at meeting patients where they are at and understanding their “why” on improving their health through food.
why im a dietitian
I became a dietitian because of my passion for food and learning. I love learning about how food is a source of nourishment for our bodies, how it can help combat disease and inflammation, and its integral role in how we feel by combining both nutrition and movement to feel our best. I find cooking therapeutic and love sharing new tips and tricks I use in my own kitchen to help support my patients to get creative in their own kitchens and create delicious meals that support their health goals. I enjoy empowering others with the tools they need to be successful and help instill the confidence that simplifies healthy eating.
FAVORITE FOOD
Depends on the day and the season! Lately, I have enjoyed making, and eating, homemade blueberry protein pancakes smeared with peanut butter with my son.
in my free time you'll find me
Outdoors exploring with my husband, son, and two dogs (Drax and Justice). We love to hike, bike, camp, and explore all the beauty nature has to offer. I also love watching cooking shows, experimenting in the kitchen, and gathering around the table with friends and family for a wonderful meal!
education
I received my Bachelors of Science from Indiana State University, while participating in their didactic program in Dietetics. I received my Masters degree in Public Health from Purdue University. I had the privilege of working with Cooking Matters with Indy Hunger Network for my internship, supporting the creation of a satellite Cooking Matters program which provides nutrition and cooking classes to individuals and their families impacted by food insecurity.
