Ingredients in High Protein Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie

and their nutritional benefits

How to Make Raspberry Chocolate Smoothies

instructions

Bananas- High in potassium, an essential nutrient for good heart and muscle function, as well as being important for your blood pressure and keeping your bones healthy. They also help keep you fuller for longer due to their soluble fiber content.

Raspberries- Raspberries are high in antioxidants, protecting your cells against damage. They are also high in potassium, just like bananas, and provide many different vitamins.

Greek yogurt- This type of yogurt is much higher in protein, with 12g of protein for half a cup, compared to 6g for regular yogurt! It contains calcium, phosphorous and magnesium, that all work together to keep your bones happy.

Nut butters- Whether you choose peanut, almond or hazelnut butter, they are all a good source of healthy fats, which is important for your brain health. They also provide protein, which works with the fats to keep you satisfied until your next meal. Nuts in general are also a good source of vitamin E, an important nutrient for regulating blood pressure and a powerful antioxidant.

1. Measure your ingredients
2. Combine them into a blender
3. Add milk as needed to reach desired consistency
4. Optional: We like to top this smoothie with chocolate chips or cacao nibs for some fun texture! If you decide to turn this recipe into a smoothie bowl, use less milk, and you can drizzle some more nut butter on top!
5. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon and enjoy!

storing tips

Name a better combo than chocolate and raspberries, I’ll wait! This protein packed smoothie is the perfect afternoon pick-me-up, to keep you feeling energized until dinner and avoid the 3pm blues! Lunch and dinner are often too far apart for us to be able to wait until dinner without eating anything. Having a mid-afternoon nutritious snack can help you feel energized for the end of the work day to end on a strong note.

The natural sweetness of bananas and raspberries combined with the chocolate make this smoothie feel like a treat you’ll look forward to having every week! You can add whatever nut butter you have at home. Peanut butter has a stronger taste and will add a nice touch to the smoothie, whereas almond butter will let the raspberry and chocolate flavor shine!

You'll probably want to enjoy this smoothie as soon as you make it, but if you HAVE to store it, you can keep it in a sealed container in the fridge for a couple days.
