Brussels sprouts- Brussels sprouts are part of the cruciferous vegetables family. They contain high amounts of vitamin C and K. Brussels sprouts also contain some folate, which is important for neural tube development.

Olive oil- Olive oil is particularly high in monounsaturated fats, and contains omega-6 and omega-3, all healthy fats that contribute to a healthy heart.

Dijon mustard- Less processed than bright yellow mustard.

Almonds- Almonds, like all nuts, are high in healthy fats, fibre and protein. These are all nutrients that work together to keep you fuller for longer. Almonds are also high in vitamin E, manganese and magnesium. Vitamin E can help with regulating blood pressure and is a powerful antioxidant.

Dried cranberries- When buying dried fruits, look for the non added sugar type. Dried cranberries contain some vitamins and minerals, like vitamin C, E, K and manganese.

1. Add oil to a large sauté pan on medium heat.
2. Once warm, add brussels sprouts and stir until browned and crispy (about 10 minutes).
3. While the brussels sprouts are roasting, make your sauce. Mix the mustard, maple syrup, balsamic, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a small bowl.
4. Add the sauce into the pan and mix well.
5. Add almonds and cranberries. Cook for 5 more minutes, and serve warm.
